In 2003 I was asked to build 4 elements/4 directions altars for the Spiritfire Festival in Upstate NY (www.spiritfirefestival.org). These were the first altars I built, and since then I have built personal altars to support individuals in their spiritual practice. These altars range from a simple, well-finished and beautiful board, which could be set on a table or the floor, to small freestanding table or bench type altars, to more elaborate altars with drawers and doors.
